The Nokia 6700 classic is a Series 40 6th Edition phone. Among its key features are
- Integrated A-GPS navigation with included maps software,
- 5.0 megapixel camera with LED flash,
- WebKit Open Source Browser,
- Flash Lite 3.0,
- Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
- MIDP Java 2.1 with additional Java APIs.
Supported WCDMA frequencies depend on the region where the device is available. It is a 3G WCDMA (2100/1900/900 MHz) phone but also supports quad-band GSM (1900/1800/900/850 MHz). It has a stainless steel body and a weight of 113 grams.
Note that the 6700 classic is quite different from the Nokia 6700 slide, which is based on the higher powered Series 60 operating system.
[edit] Bugs
The Nokia 6700 classic has various software bugs, which continue to persist in the current firmware release (V10.60) even though they have been discussed in detail on the forum section of Nokia's website, and reported directly to Nokia[1][2][3][4][5][6]. Known bugs include:
- A bug in the call log whereby multiple calls to or from the same contact are not shown unless the dialling notation used was different on one of the calls, or a different number stored under the same contact name was dialled. Otherwise, only the most recent call is displayed (instead of the last 5 calls). This bug is also known to affect other recent S40 phone models.
- A bug in the call log where a dialled number will be shown as to "no number", even though it is not possible to dial a number to "no number".
- A bug in the call log where a recently made or received call simply does not appear in the call log (even though it was never manually deleted from the log).
- A bug in the call log where older call entries would re-appear on the top.
- A bug in the call log where an incorrect call duration will be given for a particular call in the log.
- A bug in the calendar where an event (such as a birthday) that is linked to a contact in the Contacts section of the phone is deleted from the calendar after the phone is switched off the first time after the event is created.
- A bug in the message recipients log (menu - log - msg. recipients) where most of the recent recipients are not shown.
- A bug where text message from sent item might appear under inbox and vice versa.
